He complains of constant wet cough with clear, productive phlegm, that make him sick and tired and prevent him from sleeping at night. The cough started five days ago and got worse at night. Danny denies shortness of breath, no chest pain. However, he stated that he has running nose, sore throat and occasional sneezes. Patient’s mother gave him an over the counter cough medicine that helps a little. Danny has a history of pneumonia a year ago that resolve with anantibiotic with no need for hospitalization. Danny has had many ears ache in the past, and complains of pain 3/10 on the right ear at the moment. Danny has no prescription medication; however, he takes daily vitamins and has no allergies. According to Danny, his father smokes cigarssometime in the house, and the smell bothers him and his breathing, then improves when his father smokes outside or away from him.
