The Asian American R. A.W The Asian American R. A.W is also centered on themes of gender stereotyping and the struggles that women endure due to their sexuality. Women in the play are stereotyped as China dolls, exotic virgins, and as geishas ( Liu, 323-330) . The play largely addresses feminism issues and gender discrimination that women of Asian American heritage face in mother-child relationships, while relating with men, and in the general family and society set up. According to research published in the Asian American journal of psychology, a significant proportion of Asian American women have been victims of racialized sexism. Such racism affects Asian Americans in different age group, and different professions as even female students of the heritage reported having faced such discrimination. How the two Theatre Forms relate to each Other The African Ruined and the Asian American R.A.W relate in that they address feminism and gender-based discrimination in the respective cultures.
