Instructor: Boyd Call EXS 441 Adaptive Physical Education Form A I. Static Balance A. Crouch on tip toes with eyes closed - hold for ten seconds B. Stork stand for 10 seconds (hands on hips, arch drawn along side supporting knee) C. Balance three-foot-long Dowling (or yardstick) on finger II. Dynamic Balance (10') A. Walk on 6 inch beam forward and sideways B. Walk the 4 inch beam forward and sideways C. Walk the 2 inch beam forward and sideways III. Point Balance A. Kneel in four-point stance with arms and thighs parallel B. From kneeling position extend one leg and balance on three points for 10 seconds C. From kneeling position balance on right hand and left leg (or vice versa) for 10 seconds IV. Laterality (angels in the snow) - Only the indicated segments should be moved-simultaneous (not one before the other.) A. Move arms away from the body B. Move arm and leg on same side away from body C. Move arm and leg on opposite side away from body V. Kinesthesis A. Semaphore - Imitate the following arm positions: B. With eyes closed, extend arm to side of body and then place tip of forefinger on end of nose. VI. Hopping (hop 10 times) A. Hop on one foot B. Hop on alternate feet with a two-two rhythm C. Hop on alternate feet with a one-two-one rhythm VII. Jumping (1) A. Jump with both feet (not one before the other) over 12 inch long obstacle (1-2 inch high) and maintain balance when landing B. Jump from a step or other object (approximately 24 inches high) and maintain balance without
