1. What steps of the general adaptation syndrome will I experience? Well I think at first I would hit the Alarm reaction. The boss seems to be putting on a lot of pressure and to me it sounds a little alarming because I just wouldn’t know what to do. Then I would definitely go right into the exhaustion stage because I would be putting my body through so much work on top of stressing out over getting the promotion. 2. What emotional and cognitive effects might this stressor produce? Well I think that with all of these new tasks being thrown at me I might feel a little anxiety and maybe even a little anger towards my boss. Both emotions are not a very good reaction because they can both lead to depression and failure to get what I am working so hard for. I might even feel like I have so much on my plate that I just get everything so mixed up that I would have trouble thinking clearly. 3. If this stress continues, how might it affect my health?

Unformatted text preview: Well usually when I get myself all stressed out I tend to not eat. I mean I might snack on junk food which is no good or just not eat at all because I am too irritated. This can cause me to lose weight and become anorexic it could also cause my body to become malnourished. These two symptoms alone lead to all kinds of serious health issues. 4. How might I resolve this situation effectively to reduce my stress? I think the best way for me to solve all of these problems would be to maybe sit down with my boss and let them know how I am feeling. If there is anything I learned at work it is that upper management like to see when lower management seeks out help instead of trying to be an over achiever all by themselves. So I think that by asking for help or discussing the issue with my manager would actually better my chances of getting the position and at the same time help me stay stress free....
