Literature Review Introduction This review is intended to summarize three articles, identify and critique their source, and provide my opinion of its relevance to the course. The first two articles I am reviewing are in our course packet. They are “The New Rules” by Betsy Morris and Patricia Neering, and “How Extraordinary Leaders Double Profits” by Jack Zenger, Joe Folkman and Scott K. Edinger. The analysis of these two articles will demonstrate the need for my third article, titled “The Best Advice You Ever Got.” All articles are chosen for their tangible material when most course material tends to focus on conceptual things. By analyzing these three, I hope to improve my ability to critique resources to find quality, useful articles and also improving my analysis of articles. Article 1: “How Extraordinary Leaders Double Profits” Source : I identify Jack Zenger, Joe Folkman and Scott Edinger as reliable resources, all of whom are coworkers in the company, Zenger Folkman. Zenger founded a company that the Wall Street named Top 10 for executive development. He also taught at University of Southern California at the undergraduate level, and graduate level at Stanford. Zenger has written over 50 articles, and 4 books. He has demonstrated experience, and has received fantastic feedback. Folkman is a PhD recipient with decades of experience consulting Fortune 500 companies and the military. He has coauthored seven books. Folkman has demonstrated expertise through his fulfilling career. Edinger is a very important contributor to this article due to his extensive knowledge of Sales. Having a proven track record of growth and progress as a Senior Vice President of Sales, he is strong testament to the money-making side of leaders. On a separate
