Unformatted text preview: Absorbance Concentration Time Time Time Time Time Kinetics of the Reaction of Crystal Violet and Sodium Hydroxide I. The Relationship Between Absorbance and Concentration The equation that established the relationship between absorbance and concentration is y = 0.1387x – 0.0817. The correlation coefficient (R 2 ) was 0.9987 which is fairly accurate. The slope of this equation (0.1387) was used to calculate the concentration (Concentration = absorbency/ slope). This reaction of crystal violet and sodium hydroxide also follows the Beer-Lambert Law that Absorbance = e / c. II. The Rate Law Expression The following graph represents the zero order reaction with 0.1 M NaOH: The following graph represents the first order reaction with 0.1 M NaOH: The following graph represents the second order reaction with 0.1 M NaOH: The following graph represents the zero order reaction with 0.2 M NaOH: The following graph represents the first order reaction with 0.2 M NaOH: The following graph represents the second order reaction with 0.2 M NaOH:The following graph represents the second order reaction with 0....
