Means 1 Andrew Means English 1102-03 Plattner Hearing people (especially famous) saying “If I was not raised this way, I do not know where I would be today” sounds so cliché. In reality, the phrase matches up to my life perfectly. My mother had to make so many decisions in her life time, but how she intended to raise me and my three other siblings was one of the biggest decisions she’s ever made; and we weren’t even born yet. She raised us in the Christianity lifestyle, and sometimes I find it tough to stay true to those values, but I clearly still see where I came from. My mother was raised Catholic through all of her grade school years. Her side of my family originated from St. Croix at the United States Virgin Islands. There was no other religion over there and my Grandfather would instill in her and my aunt that all other religions are non- existent in their life. Because of my Grandfather’s strict structure, my mother followed and practiced these rituals through her life. She went to catholic school all through grade and high school and went to church every Wednesday, Saturday, and Sunday. She felt like the catholic life
