Senator: Two per state, rep.’s state (6 yrs.) Congressman: Population based, rep.’s district (2 yrs.) One Goal: GETTING REELECTED Help Home District: Get federal projects Protect local industries Short-Term Benefits: Terms short (2, 4, or 6 years) Surplus- cut debt or tax break? Raise Tons of Money No Term limits Frequent campaigns (every 2-6 yrs)
