Performance of gender in schools has allowed us to experience the expression of being a male and a female differently. Today many people narrowly believe the simple truths of gender. Many individuals see the concept of gender as very biological, final and unquestionable. However, gender is far more complex than the simple biological distinctions of men and women. Not very far back in time dress like clothing was worn by both man and women. Today, the gendered roles of a male are much more restricted compared to the female roles when looking at the classroom and family setting. It is not very likely to see a man walk into a classroom setting wearing dress like clothing. When a man wears a dress, it is much harder to imagine him becoming masculine because he is performing female gendered roles. Men that grow their hair out may be stereotyped as female. Even more, research has shown that parents worry significantly more about male children who do not fight, dominate, and perform traditional masculine roles. Fathers, specifically, want their boys to run fast or hit hard
