Ramirez ENG 1301 30 Oct. 2009 Jornal 4 Good Evidence, Poor Transition Sustan Sontag wrote an essay that was published in The New York Times Magazine about the photographs of American soldiers torturing Iraqis. Her essay consisted of five different sections in which she talks about different aspects of these photographs. Her essay is very convincing due to the evidence she uses to support her point. The problem of this essay is that its organization and transition confuses the reader because of the sudden change of subjects. The essay has very good points but they are too broad and they are not developed enough. Sontag includes a very shocking and revealing source of evidence. She shows four different photographs that show the atrocities American soldiers are committing in Iraq. When she shows these photographs, she is proving the authenticity of the photographs the whole essay is talking about. The third and fourth sections talk about the
