Problem with Evil and the Existence of God 2 Faith is a very strong emotion that ties our religion to the lives around us. It makes one feel as if their life has meaning and a purpose. The main question in every religion is “how can we have a loving god, when there is so much pain and suffering in the world?” This question is something that has been debated for decades, and will be debated for centuries to come. There is no right or wrong answer to this question, but it reverts back to your own personal beliefs.

“The first move for many philosophers has been to distinguish moral from nonmoral evil, in which moral evil is the product of our actions and intentions and nonmoral evil consists of natural disasters and “acts of god”. (Solomon & Higgins, 2010) The problem with this statement is that a natural disaster should not be considered as an act of god, but an act of nature. What’s the difference, if God is the cause of nature? The point, though, is that these terrible times are something God could stop, if he wanted to. Why doesn’t he want to? His benevolence suggests that he should. Explain It would seem God would. And everyone who has ever had something terrible and awful happen to them for no apparent reason. Exactly Well done God gave us a brain and the opportunities to discover advances in technology. This is helping our warning systems for natural disasters progress into better warning systems.
