Allison Morrow 101-311 September 30, 2009 Assignment: Short Writing #4 Reading Log 4 The most important moment of The Veldt has to be the moment where the psychologist, Dr. MacClean is warning George about the room and how the children are affecting it. The reader comes to a realization that something is truly evil about the children and begins to recognize the danger of the room. It is crucial because it is a part of the climbing action of the story, and Dr. MacClean is warning George that their imaginations are getting out of hand. "Everything. Where before they had a Santa Claus now they have a Scrooge.” Instead of preferring comfort, they prefer an African Veldt. This part of the story is where George decides to turn off the room completely and starts a list of chaotic events that includes the death of himself and Lydia.
