MICROSOFT SUSTAINABLE SOLUTIONS 2 Microsoft Sustainable Solutions Paper This paper has as its theme the sustainable solutions of Microsoft Corporation, is the world leader in computing software, controlling the corporate and domestic computer marketplace. The technology industry is a very competitive and constantly evolving. Through this paper shall see the execution and placement of Microsoft on this type of Industry. Besides the above shall see different aspects of the industry as the strategy and their analysis, corporate culture and the Stakeholder. Throughout the advancement of the analysis of this paper about Microsoft will see the domestic and external factors of the company including their value chain. We shall see the performance of Microsoft within the technology industry also to its strategy and its execution. Executive Summary The technology colossus “Microsoft Corporation was co-founded in 1975 by Bill Gates and Paul Allen, has built a dominant position the computer industry” (Microsoft (MSFT), para. 2). According to E-Trade (2010)," In fiscal year 2010, Microsoft recorded $62.5 billion of revenue and $18.8 billion of net income” (Microsoft (MSFT), para. 1). The enterprise is split into five principal divisions; “the Windows & Windows Live Division, Server and Tools, Online Services Division, Microsoft Business Division, and the Entertainment and Devices Division” (Microsoft Corporation, 201, p. 1). After performing the analysis from Microsoft about stakeholders reveal that besides to internal stakeholders as employees, vendors, government, business partners, suppliers, customers, partners, and stakeholders. As a result from the analysis of Porter's five forces into the external environment we found that in the external environment crucially affects corporation strategy. Three external environments affect Microsoft strategy: customers, competitors, and suppliers. First, to survive, a company must understand its customers. Without demand of its product or services, the company does not exist. Second, the intensity of competition determines the profitability of a company. Hence, understanding competition is critical. Third, suppliers contribute to creating value for the company's products. Therefore, relationship with suppliers is essential to ensure reasonable cost of materials and services.
