SPW 3130 : Spanish American Literature Spring 2010 Syllabus Dr. Santiago Juan-Navarro Office Hours: Mon 6:00 PM - 7:30PM; Wed 12:30PM – 1:30PM (DM495B) Goals and Objectives The course aims to give an overview of the major trends in Spanish American literature from the time of discovery and conquest to the 20th century and to introduce students to the diverse literary forms of that tradition. Through a close reading of selected texts, we will focus on problems of literary analysis as well as on the development of Spanish American writing within its historical context.
