PSII electrons move to PSI and boosts electron energy 3. Two high energy electons and one H+ are transferred to NAPD+ to make NADPH 4. H+ gradient used to synthesize ATP via ATP synthase in the Thylakoid Membrane PRODUCED DURING LIGHT REACTIONS: ATP, NADPH, and O2 Calvin Cycle – Stroma Calvin cycle must run 6 times to produce one molecule of glucose. 1. Carbon Fixation – - CO2 incorporated into RuBP using ribisco - 6C intermediate splits into two 3C sugars 2. Reduction and carbohydrate production - 12 ATP and 12 NADPH used to convert to another 3C sugar.
