District 10 EMS Training and Education 2019 A-EMT course Clinical Requirements Hospital and pre-hospital clinical time will consist of the following: Patient assessments, including vital signs, history gathering, physical examination Airway management, including suctioning, and bad-valve-mask ventilation (if available) Intravenous therapy Medication administration by the oral, sublingual, intranasal, inhalation, subcutaneous, intramuscular and intravenous routs Development of patient rapport Formulation of a treatment plan Conduct will be remain professional at all times. Course uniform and ID badge to be worn during all clinical time Below will be the minimum requirement broken down. Students must remain in the scope of practice of the AEMT in regards to skills and medication. No IV attempts or medication administration are to be performed without an approved clinical preceptor or hospital RN oversite.
