The Senate incumbent has almost $200 million dollars or 1 million average of more money advantage over a challenger. 5. In the House, Open Seat candidates raise over 800 thousand dollars of more money compared to a challenger. In the Senate, Open Seat candidates raise over 1 million dollars more money than a challenger. 6. Large individual contributors are the leading source of campaign contributions when you look at all four types of candidates. 7. The percentage of the US Over-18 population that contributed the maximum amount of $200+ to a candidate was 44%. 8.
