Stories through the life cycle Five-year-old mind : fairy tales and magic; rigid  dualities, right and wrong; good and evil Ten-year-old mind : “fair to a fault”; everyone  has some element of good and bad Adolescent  (15 year old): “revels in relativism”;  may or may not persist; may revert to earlier  stories Adult  (25-50): “personal integration”; reconciles  awareness of relativism with clear stance or  position As we age, our stories become more complex, and  ambiguous
