John Bieler 2/18/08 SPD 126 Relationship Questions: You Can Count on Me 1. Rudy seems to really enjoy Terry’s company throughout most of the movie. Rudy admires Terry for his ability to have fun. Rudy listens to Terry for enjoyment, information, critical/evaluating, and empathic listening. For example, Terry comes into Rudy’s room smoking a cigarette and talks to Rudy for a long time. The whole time Rudy listens to Terry’s rambling for enjoyment because most of what Terry says goes over Rudy’s head. Terry on the other hand listens to Rudy for enjoyment, information and critical and evaluating reasons. Terry tries learning more about himself and his sister by listening to Rudy. For example, Rudy explains to Terry that he is still yet to meet his father and Terry listens empathetically and takes him to meet his father. 2. Terry attributes Rudy’s behavior mostly on his mother and moreover on his father not being apart of his life. Furthermore, Terry believes Rudy rats him out to his
