Executive Summary The assignment was to calculate the visual angle for 5 scenarios and show results and conclusions. The second part of the assignment was to investigate the control levers on a forklift to see if they are compatible with user expectations. I used the equation given in the class notes in order to calculate the visual angles for each scenario, along with my handy calculator. I used the internet to find a source for forklift controls and the assignment pages and related material. It is important to know how a person thinks a machine should operate, and build the piece of machinery around those controls if possible. This would reduce accidents and injuries. It is also important to design control mechanisms that are user friendly.

The second part of the assignment was to look at forklift controls and compare them to user expectations of how the forklift should be controlled. The visual angle being calculated refers to the size of the object seen by the eye, on the retina itself. Objectives The objectives of this assignment are to find the visual angle for each scenario and give a description of typical forklift controls and compare them to user expectations of those controls.
