Abstract The following questions and answers are related to the movie “Remember the Titans”. Most of these questions are regarding the use of motivation. . Motivation is defined as psychological forces that determine the direction of a person’s behavior in an organization, a person’s level of effort, and a person’s level of persistence. As a manager it is important to know how to properly motivate employees to complete tasks and obtain goals.

MGT 301 Motivation What is the importance of Coach Boone's "Jerry Lewis" and "Dean Martin" episode with two players before training camp? Coach Boone was trying to prove a point to Gary and his friend Ray about how the football team would be ran. Before training camp, Gary confronted Boone and told him half the white kids would play and half the black kids would play. Coach Boone publicly humiliated them to show them that he was in charge. Boone was trying to embarrass them for having a bad attitude about the new team. How do the Titans start to become a team? Discuss the importance of training camp to Coach Boone. The training camp was vital and key to the success of the integration of black and white students. Just for that camp, they were no longer segregated. Coach Boone made the team pair up with a person of opposite skin color for the entire training camp. Boone also made the students get to know each other outside of football by making them get to know each other on a personal basis. There were times at first when fists were thrown in anger, but the team came together at the training camp and learned to look past skin color and play as a team.
