2 ORGANIZATIONS AS POLITICAL SYSTEMS Organizations as Political Systems: A Comparison of a Leadership Style Survey and an Organizational Behavior Survey Leadership Style Surveys help to identify personal management styles which describe the manner in which individuals utilize, manage, and organize resources to accomplish tasks and goals. There are several management or leadership style inventories or surveys available as tools and resources for management personnel at all levels. Don Clark created a Leadership Style Survey available online that is very user friendly and simple to understand. The website was easy to get to and provided valuable information for management to consider. After providing answers to 30 different survey questions, the survey will identify the dominant leadership style for the individual. There are three different types of leadership styles identified and include the Authoritarian Style, the Participative Style, and the Delegative Style. Once I had finished the Leadership Style Survey my scores were 33, 38, and 27 respectively, so my dominant leadership style is the Participative Style. According to the Leadership Style Survey website, the Participative or Democratic style of leadership involves the leader including one or more employees in the decision making process to determine what to do and how to do it.
