1. Describe how typical the attitudes that Sheehy reports appear to be in work Environments you have experienced. In my work environments I have experienced similar attitudes that are described in Sheehy’s report such as “Getting on with getting mine.” For example, coworkers avoid work by not checking on their clients in a timely manner. The worker would check on their clients every 4 to 5 hours. Although protocol states a client should be seen every 2 hours. To me this meant taking shortcuts or getting something done without much effort. Furthermore when the client was seen the coworker didn’t follow procedures, providing exercise for the client, ambulating the client properly or making sure the client was dressed properly for the occasion. This is a poor display of customer service, It creates an unsafe work environment, I would even go as far to say these work ethics violated state codes. 2. Explain the implications of the work ethic Sheehy describes for the future of American business.
