MODERN CHALLENGES IN IMMIGRATION 2 Modern Challenges in Immigration I believe everyone should have a fair chance to become a citizen of the United States. On the other hand when taking into consideration all of the terroristic attacks against on the United States-not only do I feel that all immigrants must be legal, but I also feel that immigrants from countries that are in opposition with the United States of America, should be on very strict restriction from entering and/or becoming citizens of the U.S. Throughout history the United States government has designed acts and policies regarding immigration, one of which was the Chinese Exclusion Act of 1882, this act prohibited the immigration of Chinese laborers for ten years. The United States government currently has a policy or act in position that addresses this issue as the 1965 immigration and Naturalization Act.
