Assignment: Formal Analysis of Art Vincent van Gogh’s The Starry Night has been fixated on for decades upon decades. Van Gogh past present and future will be remember for this and many other exceedingly popular paintings. Currently The Starry Night can be found on shirts and purses as well as other up and coming fashion statements which in a sense keeps this genius work of art alive. Time and cultures just as they did in Van Gogh’s day in the 1880s and 1890s are being imprinted as well as analyzed in terms of art such as line and also typical questions about the artist such as communication. This artist has gone down in art history as “personally expressive” “loose” and “free” the ladder two describing the way he used lines. In Sol LeWitt Van Gogh uses the quality of line in a very clean bold way. The way he created this stunning “painting” was by using ink washes and this system is very unique.
