Brian Page 2 6/21/2011 Abstract Module seven concentrated on work related stress, and how to alleviate it. As a supervisor one of the constant causes of stress is employee productivity. In this assignment I will act as an agent hired to consult for a furniture design firm. I will outline reasons to restructure their work groups.

Brian Page 3 6/21/2011 Li, the CEO of the furniture design company usually has the workers in eight man groups. This can be effective for getting a lot of work completed in a short amount of time, but it can also have negative side effects. With more minds working on a project creativity will be in abundance, but competition may also arise, or lack there of can result as well. Here is a lost of issues that can affect a large work group. Social Loafing : Social loafing occurs most frequently when workers believe that their individual performance or contribution will not be measured and when working on simple, additive tasks, rather than complex, interdependent tasks (Riggio, 2008).
