Section 4.2
#114 – Remember d = 2r where d = diameter and r = radius.
After dividing to get the radius, be
sure the coefficient is at least 1.0. See the end of example 7c pg 294 but go the other way with
the exponent to make the number larger if it is less than 1.
Final answers in Scientific Notation
must have a coefficient that is between 1 and 9.
Section 4.3
#94 – the perimeter is the length around the outside which is made up of 2 widths and 2 lengths.
Add together and combine like terms.
For the second part substitute 4 for x in the first answer
and find the numeric length.
#98 – a) subtract the polynomial for the green ball from the polynomial for the red ball to get the
difference in feet.
b) Use the result from a) and substitute 2 for t to find the height difference.
