Industry analysis 1- http://www.ibisworld.com/industryus/industryoutlook.aspx?indid=753 Expected profits and Exports to 2016 The production of electronic goods and components will continue to move to countries where labor costs are low, adversely impacting the computer industry. Industry profit margins are expected to come under pressure as a result of competition from low-priced imports. And more pressure to outsource both labor and the manufacturing of parts is expected to increase. Industry revenue will be negatively affected by low or negative growth in the US final electronic product manufacturing industries (due largely to a continuing shift of electronic goods manufacturing to low-cost countries). The limited presence of the United States in the production of HDTV’s, including both LCD and LED is expected to hinder the competitiveness of both Dell and HP. 2 -
