For the combinational circuit, analyze the circuit to produce a Boolean expression for the output. For the sequential circuit, show how present output does not depend only on present input; that is, find an input abc for which there can be different outputs d , depending on the circuit’s history of inputs. Circuit (a) is combinational, and circuit (b) is sequential. Circuit (a) has no feedback, while circuit (b) does have feedback from the circuit output to the input of the AND gate in the middle. Combinational circuit (a) generates d = abc . For sequential circuit (b), starting with input abc = 000 produces d = 0, then following that with input 011 produces d = 0, but instead starting with input 111 produces d = 1, and the same following input 011 now produces d = 1. 2.
