FAQs on Personal Finance and Investments FIN 2100 Who should take this class? All UCF students should consider taking Personal Finance and Investments. Why? Because every student will make numerous financial decisions throughout their lifetime, yet many Americans do not have the training to make intelligent financial choices. In fact, many Americans are financially illiterate. Here is a sample of some of the financial decisions students will face after graduation: Which mutual funds should I select for my employer's retirement savings plan? Should I select stocks or bonds? What type of mortgage is best in the current interest rate environment and when should I consider refinancing my mortgage? How much money do I need to save to enjoy a comfortable retirement and what is the best way to save? How do I protect my family from various risks in life, such as disability? How can I save money on my income taxes?
