Office: HSC-4H19, [email protected] Teaching Assistants: Kondratyev, Maria, [email protected] Mulder, David, [email protected] Introduction: Chemical and conformational properties of proteins and relationships to their function including regulation of enzyme activity. Chemical and physical structure of DNA and RNA relevant to biological function. Evaluation: It will be based on five tests and a final examination ( all multiple choices ). Students are responsible for materials covered in the textbook and lectures . The final grade will be calculated using the following two schemes and the higher of the two will be used: Scheme A - Five tests only (20% each); Scheme B - The best four of the five tests (15% each) + final examination (40%). No make-up tests will be offered. If you miss a test without an ‘approved’ note from the Dean of your program, the test will receive a grade of ZERO. If you miss one test (with the exception of the fifth test) and have an ‘approved’ note from the Dean, your grade will be calculated as: Scheme A - Four tests only (25% each); Scheme B - The best three of the four tests (20% each) + final examination (40%). If you miss the fifth test and have an ‘approved’ note from the Dean, your grade will be calculated based on Scheme B - The best three of the four tests (20% each) + final examination (40%).
