EAS207 Engineering Mechanics STATICS Name Spring 2002 Final Examination Duration: Three hours (180 minutes) Open Books, Notes & Other stuff. No Neighborly Participation (any collaboration will result in expelling BOTH parties from the exam resulting in a grade of zero) 1) The total points on the exam are 120. You are given an extra 20 points to account for computational and inadvertent errors. However your grade will not exceed 100 even if your score is more than 100. If you score 93, you will get a 93. If you score 120 your score will be 100. 2) PLEASE BUDGET YOUR TIME . YOU MAY WANT TO ANSWER THE SHORT ANSWER QUESTIONS FIRST. 3) Partial credit will be awarded for incomplete solutions depending on correctness of solution. Points may be deducted for answers that do not apply to the questions asked. 4) Start to answer each problem on a new page. Write clearly and present well organized answers accompanied by necessary sketches. Problem #1
