ENC1102 June 25, 2009 Anthony Nappi Poetic Analysis “Love Song” by 311 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mZqEqypU4cs Shakespeare would definitely agree with this song because it deals with eternal love. Shakespeare tries to explain the true meaning of love in his poem “ Let me not to the Marriage of True Minds.” He argues that love is not restricted to time; rather, it is an everlasting emotion not bound to a certain amount of hours or weeks instead, “But bears it out even to the edge of doom.” He ends the poem saying that if he is proven wrong, then no man has ever loved. Likewise, “Love Song” is about the love this person feels for his soul mate. The song goes on to explain all the good feelings he gets when he is around her and keeps saying he will always love her. Shakespeare would have liked his passion for his lover and his persistence on loving her forever which correlates to “Let me not to the Marriage of True Minds.” 1. End Rhyme: With you / love you 2.
