Oil was found in the western Hoima district two years ago and as of now it is concluded that it will be refined starting 2009.

Unformatted text preview: There are people protesting that this should not be done since this is bad for the environment but these are very minor and most people are happy for the decision to refine oil since it creates jobs for the skilled and unskilled people of the area. According to experts the refining of oil and gas in Uganda should attract some Foreign Direct Investments which is what Uganda’s economy needs at the moment....
