Anion gap: unable to calculate should be below 12 to be out of DKA Fasting state glucose should be 70-110 An acute complication that occurs when the body’s cells are unable to the glucose it needs for energy o Must have diabetes o Ketones present form lipolysis o Metabolic acidosis o Often occurs in type 1 but can also occur in type 2 under certain conditions such as extreme o Pts become hypoglycemic usually with blood glucose levels less than or equal to 250mg/dl Rheumatoid Arthritis Chapter in Dipirrot , two articles Anakinra (kinerel®) IL-1 antagonist o IL1 plays a role in inflammation cytokinase Used in combination with MTCX Least effective SubQ injection- once daily 75-150 mg/d o Normal daily does : 100mg/d SE o Local injection site reactions
