Table 4.15 shows the results of Emerging Themes from the qualitative data analysiswhich explain the perceptions of the students from the Control Group in responding toStudent’s Interview Question 3 (Do you think the teacher should use this method(conventional method) to teach EFL reading comprehension in the future? Explainwhy.).The Control GroupOnly two out of eight respondents from the Control Group expressed opinions thatthey would not mind if their teacher were to use the conventional method to teachEnglish reading comprehension. There were various reasons given for their preference.They said that they could understand the reading text with the help of the teacher’sexplanations. However, sometimes it made students feel tedious and face difficulty incomprehending the whole reading text. Respondent 12 also suggested that the teachershould use computers and language labs to enhance students’ reading comprehensionskills. Responses from the respondents further highlight this suggestion:R9: Female. Yes, I accept to err (pause) use this way of teaching because emm(pause) it helps me to understand the lesson but this way of teaching sometimesmakes the lesson tedious.R12: Female. Yes, I do not mind if the teacher use this way of teaching but it isboring, same thing again and again. I hope in the future the teacher will use othermethods of teaching like using computers and language labs like in Westerncountries.
