Essay There are a lot of things to learn from the transformed convict Jean Valjean in the  movie “Les Miserables” when we think about the subjects of life, wealth, happiness,  death, and love. The movie was very inspiring in the areas of life lessons and change  for the better. Victor Hugo was a very prolific writer who lived a long and interesting life. There many things we can take from the character Jean Valjean, such as his  ability to change his life for the better, despite being chased his whole life by inspector  Javert, he use to be a convict that stole bread for his sister so that they may eat.  Valjean took his own life and turned it around so that he could support himself and  Crosett. There are lessons we must all learn as people about basic life lessons that  Valjean has already applied, such as the ability to love. Jean Valjean loved his sister  enough to steal and be convicted so that she could keep from starving. He also showed  love for a woman/whore by the name of Fantine who all had turned their back against.  Jean Valjean loved Fantine enough that he vowed to take care of her daughter Crosett.
