Blake Cordell Cordell 1 English 10 Honors Mrs. Mullman 02/12/08 Minimum Wage In America the government has set a minimum wage law which makes it necessary for companies to give people that apply there “a certain wage of at least $6.15 an hour” (Frank). However because of this rule many non-profit organizations are taking hard hits because they only need for little help but they must pay for big help. Also many companies are finding many loop holes around this rule, one of which is very detrimental to America. The companies are sending many jobs that Americans would have over seas so that they don’t have to abide by the law. Also now many robots and “machines are now taking the place of humans because they simply cost less.” (Frank) The minimum wage law is a positive for Americans because this sets a standard limit to what the companies must give their workers. In this day in age where gas is $3.00 and milk is more, people have to get a certain income so that they can afford to live. Over
