RTF 305, Section 11 Assignment 4 Matt Fisher Big Brother is watching. Eagle Eye, a film starring Shia LaBeouf and Michelle Monoghan, follows the two characters through jaw dropping peril. In the film, the government has a computer system that is all knowing and can read into consumer actions to form personalities and motives. The computer system becomes too smart for its own good after a poor judgment call by the President to bomb a Middle Eastern gathering, which actually turned out to be a funeral. After innocent civilians were killed by US hands, the computer system, Eagle Eye, interprets our government officials to be terrorists and takes control to blackmail US citizens to cooperate in the assassination of the powers that are in control of the executive branch. In the end, our two characters become the heroes and save the day and our country. The film is a bit unbelievable at times, but provides entertainment and dramatic shots to keep the audience entertained. The director’s use of shot progression, camera angles, and editing helped develop the suspense, character development, and action sequences.
