This process occurs according to the following reaction: NH 4 Cl + NaOH → NH 3 + NaCl + H 2 O 2. Reactions of Iron The stock solution was originally a transparent orange color. ~FeCl 3 + Fe(NO 3 ) 3 → FeCl 3 + Fe(NO 3 ) 3 : The end product solution of this reaction changed from transparent orange color to a darker orange color. ~FeCl 3 + NaCl → FeCl 3 + NaCl: The end product solution of this reaction was a colorless liquid. ~FeCl 3 + KSCN → KCl + Fe(SCN) 3 : The end product solution of this reaction was a deep red color. ~FeCl 3 + NaF → FeF 3 + NaCl: The end product solution of this reaction was a colorless liquid. ~FeCl 3 + K 4 [Fe(CN) 6 ] → Fe 4 [Fe(CN) 6 ] 3 + KCl: The end product solution of this reaction was a dark, deep green liquid. 3.
