Roshni Sheth FLL 120-2D Turkish Guest Speaker Response The Turkish guest speaker, Dr. Zengul, spent most of the class time discussing the alleged Armenian genocide. Being a Turk, he seemed to understand the loss of the Armenians, but he still denied that genocide occurred. After hearing his argument, I would have to agree with him simply because the definition of genocide implies a systematic killing of an entire group of people based on race, religion, etc. During the time of the alleged genocide, the Ottoman Empire relocated several thousand Armenians, but Dr. Zengul pointed out that millions of Muslims, Jews, and even Turks were relocated and died during the process. Also, Dr. Zengul pointed out that in 1915, Armenia proclaimed 300,000 deaths, and not it proclaims 1.5 million deaths at the hands of the Ottoman Empire. Another apparent reason that the Turkish government must deny the genocide is because of the extent that the Armenian government is blowing the incident to.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
