Roshni Sheth R21: Client Education-The In-house Way I. Educating clients is the same for corporations as it is for freelance translators and agencies. a. Clients want to know how much translation costs & how quickly it can be done. b. Educating the client is important in keeping business coming in. c. When the costs are too high, and the budget is tight, the client may end up asking a bilingual worker for a translation, which does not usually turn out well. d. The client may also purchase translation software, which usually does not give a smooth, accurate translation. e. The client must understand that some languages are more difficult to find a translator for. f. The ATA has planned to set up an “ad hoc” committee to sponsor seminars to educate clients about the business of translation. R22: Your Mission: Client Education I. Translation quality improves when the client understands that translation process. a. As a result, the client is more satisfied with the job and translation budgets rise.
