Kurt Gödel : - born April 28, 1906 in Brno, Austria-Hungary  - one interesting fact is that even at a young age, his family recognized his  immense curiosity and need to question - attended the University of Vienna, where he studied theoretical physics,  mathematics, as well as philosophy (his doctorial dissertation was supervised by  Hans Hahn) - He was good friends with Einstein, and lectured at both Princeton University and  The University of Notre Dame - in 1938 he married longtime friend Adele Porkert - Gödel moved to Princeton, New Jersey in 1940 because of World War II and  accepted a position at the Institute for Advanced Study - is probably most well-known for his  Incompleteness Theorems , which state  that: 1) a consistent (non-contradictory) system is incomplete 2) the consistency of the system is not provable within the system
