Lab # 9 1. Post Processor a. Groups – allow the viewer to just look at a specific area of the part I. creating groups i. select FEM Groups ii. select create groups iii. box in an area of the part and hit enter II. display adjacent icon – allows you to see a specific element and the elements close to them b. probe – After displaying the results i. select display template ii. turn probe switch on iii. select probe icon iv. select a spot and select it and the results for that area will be displayed for the elements at that point and very close to it 2. Mapped Meshing- Uses brick elements (uses less memory to run this type of analysis) a. Rules 1. No holes in volume 2. 5 to 6 surface to each volume 3. 3 to 4 edges/surfaces b. Point of Degeneracy – is where you have a point as an edge c. Making a mapped mesh 1. create a FEM model 2. select solid mesh icon
