Personal Mission Statement Section I: My Role in My Education Currently I have an Associate’s degree in Paralegal Studies. I am working towards my Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice. I should graduate with my Bachelor’s degree in the fall of 2011. Upon graduation I will pursue a MBA. I should be finished with my MBA by winter 2012. In spring of 2013 I will prepare for the LSAT and enroll in law school. I plan to graduate from law school in 2016. This is my educational plan for the next 5 years. The three obstacles I see would be finances, employment and family. The first obstacle I have is finding time. I am working 50 hour weeks and am just exhausted. The second obstacle goes hand in hand with my job as financially I need the overtime. The third obstacle is my business, again just not enough time in the day. Section II: Problem Solving for Success Step 1: My present state is one of chaos. I am working 50-60 hours weeks, we just moved, my daughter just began her Junior year in high school in conjunction with her freshman year in college. My husband’s recent promotion has led to longer hours, shorter patience and less time at home. My desired state is to obtain balance. I would like to be able to trim my work week down and work a few hours less. I would love to have more quality time with my husband and daughter. I would also like to have time to do other things I enjoy such as reading and research. My desired state includes better time
