1.  Explain the difference between testate and intestate. Testate is defined as a person who dies and has a will in place that is valid. Intestate  refers to the state of a persons things who dies without a valid will in place. 2.  What is a holographic will?  Are holographic wills allowed in your state? A holographic will is a will that is completely hand written and signed without the  presence of a witness. The will must meet all statutory requirements in order to be  executed as a valid will. Colorado does allow holographic wills.   3.  What is the purpose of the homestead?  Does your state allow a homestead  exemption?  If so, explain what it is in your state. Homestead laws were enacted to protect the home from creditor’s providing the right of
