Jamie M Dotson English 1010 A Healthy Community I am a member of a small church in south Johnson City called Taylor’s Memorial Methodist Church. The church has welcomed my bi-racial family and I as not only members, but family. We began attending because my mother-in-law and her late husband were members. They were married by the pastor as were my husband and I. The church offered emotional and financial support to my mother in law following her husband’s death. They provided my family and I everything we could possibly need when we had our second child. My husband was baptized by the pastor and her husband. The Church acts as a tight knit community within itself. What most people don’t know about this little church is the impact is has on the Washington County community. The pastor, Mrs. Sarah Wells, also owns and operates the Good Samaritan Ministries. This organization is sponsored by donations from the community and the United Way. They offer many services to people in need within Washington County. They offer help with utility
