ANALYZING CREDIBILITY 2 Analyzing Credibility Progressive Insurance pays for their advertisements, and CNN’s Larry King Live pays for their interviews. In the interview with former Mayor Giuliani, I did not detect an intentional slant. The interview seemed to focus on Giuliani’s own opinions in regard to the past events of 9/11. Giuliani is a politician so it is difficult to believe what he says. Often I receive the impression that politicians are attempting to manipulate American citizens, so I tend to discredit their responses. In the interview, there is a reflection of society still adversely affected by 9/11. However, in the advertisements paid for by Progressive Insurance, I believe there is a slant because Progressive is attempting to sell insurance to consumers. In their ads they give the impression of possessing the best and cheapest insurance in the industry. Unfortunately, because
