In order to understand DNA fingerprint it is easier for a person to understand that when looking into the mirror and what you see is a little traits of each parent this is through genes and chromosomes. The DNA (Deoxyribonucleic acid) is a chemical structure that makes up chromosomes. The Structure of DNA (Deoxyribonucleic acid) was first discovered in 1953 by Doctor James Watson and Francis Crick. The Structure was a double helix structure that is made up of phosphate, sugar (deoxyribose) and a pair of bases.() These double Helix structure are twisted around itself to make Chromosomes and a section of a DNA Structure is called genes. Depending if you have brown eyes or blue eyes depend on what section of DNA structure you have. A lot of peoples DNA are the same as everyone because we all have the same organs like a heart and lungs, liver and other body organs. Around in the early 1980’s a scientist Named Sir Alec Jeffreys was studying human inherited variation, which starts with the differences in genes at his laboratory in the UK. Jeffreys was looking at sections of DNA that were highly variable from individual to individual as he wanted to find out how people vary in their DNA sequences. When looking at peoples DNA Jeffreys came up with a theory that the actual DNA sequence of the repeated segments did not really matter but the actual times the segment was repeated.
