AUDIENCE ANALYSIS PAPER 2 Audience Analysis Paper With audience in mind, one will have to consider what type of characteristics to use. In this come the communication channels and what would be the most appropriate. Also, what would be some considerations to keep in mind given the diversity of the audience? Lastly, how does one ensure that the message was effective? Do speakers really know how to keep the audience wanting more or do the speaker say everything correctly, in the right tone, and understood? How does any speaker rate? Whether it is talking to internal audiences or external audiences, a speaker needs to know these types of things before speaking to any group. With an internal audience this is where the speaker would be talking to people in the same organization like fellow employees, superiors, and even their peers. (Locker & Kienzler, 2008) In an external audience these are people who are like the “customers, suppliers, unions, stockholders, potential employees, government agencies, the press, and even the general public.” (Locker & Kienzler, 2008) Knowing what type of audience a speaker is going to talk to also, comes what type of characteristic to consider as well. The types of characteristics can range from their demographics, age, diversity, income levels, and gender. Knowing how to speak to the audience can be one thing that the speaker can do well if the speaker knows and incorporates this into the speech. Also, having specific questions written down to what an audience member might ask before it is asked to have the
